i'm still bumble-beeing over my work. it's sunday yet i'm working.
decided to take 5 minutes out of it to document my busy moments, and hopefully through writing i can look back and think about this moment.
International Congress in India is happening in a couple of days. i am grateful that i have another coordinator to handle the flow of the partnership launch, to settle the agenda of the workshop and guarantee the delivery of goods and banners to our conference.
I am given enough room to concentrate on attending to the managers who are looking to hire management interns for their projects. once i get any hiring requests, i spend time calling them to further enquire about what their department does.
Reason 1. since our company spans over 5 business units and each business is massive.. express, global forwarding, global customer solutions, global business services, supply chain (go to our corporate website, you will see what i am saying). when i mean massive, it is so diverse, we basically need talent from every sort of background you can imagine.
Reason 2. i need to know what kind of personality would fit the job description best. we could definitely say tasks will have to be done, but the environment in which the intern would have to work in will make all the difference. for example, we could say the job of teaching english is self-explanatory. we definitely need someone with professional experience teaching english. however, based on point 1 above, when i know the context - i find out that the project looking for an english teacher requires the need for somebody who is extremely self-confident and has strong initiative, since this person is creating an entire curriculum for 60 over spanish speaking employees in the costa rica office, and administering a first test across the company to assess and group employees into 3 levels of proficiency in the english language. this ranges from top management to the office workers. (if you know somebody who fits this profile, speak to me)
Reason 3. that flows into my marketing for the postings.
next job, flying to india. i am awaiting my visa. so in the meantime i am preparing my powerpoint slides for the trip to india, coaching AIESEC countries on how to work with us. considering that the services promised need to be delivered.
lastly, i am also planning meetings to happen in AP, and i will be in singapore soon to speak to top management in our AP offices. :) so far it's going good. i am happy to be able to do marketing and hr in my position ;)
