five more days left in singapore.
i had the opportunity to learn more about my home country in the past couple of weeks. i definitely noticed i will not be missing the food; such as laksa, chilli crab etc. it's funny how i noticed how un-singaporean i am - i am hardly appreciating the things that people do in my country.
what i will miss:
- my dear friends. i overestimated my ability to pack up and leave. when i'm having all my appointments with people because i'm going to be abroad for one year, i re
alized there are so many people i will miss when i leave...
- my mother. i can't even say enough about this. my cheerleader. my best friend. she is one person who shows me what sincerity is and generosity is all about :) i have much to learn from her in these aspects.
- my aunt. my confidante and lighthouse- always guiding me whenever i am lost. listening to my rants and never getting mad at me. she consistently expresses faith in me. my pillar of strength, with her i gain so much confidence in myself, and not feel inferior.
- listening to Kpop and immersing in Asian music!
everyday i am meeting up with friends. today it was with primary school friends, and that was 11 years ago we were in the same class. now everyone is grown-up and starting their careers. everytime we hang out it feels like a food hunt; we scouted around for food - eventually heading to siglap for cheesecake. funny how we got together only when i am leaving, and probably more food hunting when i get back.
even though we have chosen completely different paths, we still have that commitment to meet up and really like each other's companionship. :) cheers to friendship! it's explicable how we haven't consistently met up, but now i'm discovering there are jewels in some friendships forged years ago.
