i'm in a hostel for my first night in paris
just a quick update on what has happened
- gcc meeting ended last week: a fantastic five-days, working alongside nine different nationalities and picked up a little portuguese and spanish. learnt a lot of stuff about communications field
- amsterdam: visited the van gogh museum with ines. a little disappointing that his paintings were only on the first floor but the paintings were real good. fun time visiting lee, i was made to feel so at home. had a treat at the chocolate bar, i had milkshake with white choc and dinner was an english home-cooked meal :) [i didn't cook of course :p]
- belgium: i was practically train-hopping for the past four days. day one i was in brussels, day two i jumped onto a train to brugge, then day three i swung by antwerp for a shopping trip and day four i was in ghent. i loved ghent the most out of all :) the castle and cathedral were absolutely breath-taking. basically i shopped the most for clothes in belgium. sabrina brought me to eat the real French fries - french fries originated from Belgium, not france ;) and boy, were they the best fries i ever tasted! met beatrice as well, so fun to meet people again
- paris: i only went to the louvre so far. it was free entrance for under 26 years olds tonight. very nice stained glass on display, saw the mona lisa and wow the dome was soooo impressive at night (it was just like how we saw it in the show: the da vinci code). will see how the rest goes. meeting thordis tomorrow!
it's almost christmas here, so many christmas markets around, and so many decorations :) pretty, pretty, pretty :)
on the trains to the different towns i met so many people: one businessman from detroit, a 26 year old doctorate student in law- studying in spain and is originally from chile, and a 28 year old japanese lady who married a businessman based in brussels
more stories to come.. on how i lost my way around towns and the darn trains kept having problems
