thrilled...
...seeing hard work paying off!

grace and i were racking our heads for a couple of days on how to respond to the recent article in TODAY about the lack of HIV/Aids awareness amongst Gen Y. we thought it good to ride on this wave to get AIESEC in the news, since BEADS has been working hard at raising awareness.. and there was newsworthiness in responding! Gen Y leaders taking on the role of educating fellow youths on this issue - activating leadership to create societal awareness :)

initially we heard no news for three days, and we thought the reporters weren't going to cover the letter...

until grace received a call yesterday from TODAY, and they enquired if they could cut the letter down to 200 words (of course we said "YES, please go ahead") . grace also asked when the letter would be published, and the reporter said either this weekend or tuesday's edition.

this morning, during my project group meeting, i went to TODAYonline to check if it came out.. can you imagine how delighted I was to see the words "AIESEC Singapore" there, with the link to the website! :D

while i was heading for lunch at raffles city shopping centre, i saw people carrying the TODAY newspaper.. and i simply had to grab my own copy! :) can't contain my excitement!

last year, mypaper featured a one-liner of the BEADS project as a HIV/Aids awareness activity, with no mention of AIESEC. finally, justice done to the efforts of the BEADS project OC! :) i'm a happy, satisfied girl. feast your eyes on this! :D
