back from brazil and amsterdam
finally, after three weeks of being away, i'm home.
missed hainanese chicken rice along the way. maybe economical rice too, with my curry chicken and veggie and tofu.
some thoughts to share while i was on my way to brazil:
1. why is the flight so long?! - i practically watched movies till i was bored to tears.
2. that was when i switched to listening to music and that bored me too.
3. that's was happens when you're on a 26-hours ++ journey
was i happy when i ended my first flight and alighted at the airport in amsterdam, only to discover there wasn't much stuff to shop for, and the exchange rate is extremely not to my favour. :( so, i went off to the lounge area to sleep..
upon reaching brazil, i contacted my brazilian friend luciana and she came down at night to drive me around town! :) she took us to paulista avenue and the night tour was eye-opening. we saw poverty; people rummaging through rubbish, people who slept on the walkways; then we were brought to the rich area where houses looked like apartments in new york! walked around sao paulo for two days (combed the city's major sights by then) and then off we were to our study tour in rio de janeiro.
rio de janeiro didn't exactly take my breath away initially- i'm not a fan of beaches. but i was pleasantly amazed, when i saw the night view of the entire city from the sugar loaf and the christ redeemer.
i've got tons more to tell! but that'll have to wait for a while..
the only drawback of being home? i have to face reality- it's back to school for me. time to catch up on work..
