whee!
currently in a korean drama craze.

and getting into the mood of watching discovery channel and documentaries.

yesterday, there were these two documentaries aired about kids with tumours. the first one was titled the girl who lives in the dark and the second was the boy with a tumour on his face. it was heart-wrenching to see them and their disfigured faces and the discrimination they faced from their surroundings.. but it was heart warming that their parents loved them all the more.

their surguries were successful; the tumours removed.

for the girl, her tumours were cancerous and even though the tumours had been removed, the cancer had spread to her lungs...

she had been fortunate to have been discovered by a tour guide who mailed photos of her condition to doctors and one English doctor went all out to help her and found a hospital in Shanghai that treated her for free. unfortunately, it was all too late.. her cancer had spread to other organs.

as for the boy, his tumours were not cancerous and the doctors successfully operated on him. He recovered but he died later due to breathing problems.

most importantly, the shows highlighted their family's unfailing support and love for them in these trying times.

it's 7:58 PM now on Monday, April 30, 2007
