sleep deprived
came home from the conference yesterday. let me recap the events.

fri: flagged a cab down to school, mainly because i had not finished packing my bags and there was too much to carry. basically, i was given the admin stuff to do the entire day (though my friends were rather envious i got to sit inside an air-conditioned room instead of running around like them, but note: i was alone in a room for hours on end so there's the downside and the upside.) and i felt really frustrated because i saved the files in my laptop yet the files kept disappearing. in the end i re-typed the entire thing and realized to my horror, the original files were actually saved in a temporary folder (sigh). moved the tables and chairs from admin block to biz block. what a nightmare. dinner with oc. checked into smu hostel. (had fasntastic housemates: celine, mei-xi, zhang ning and pham). kept borrowing toothpaste from zhang ning and mei-xi cos i forgot to bring it. haha~ my single bedroom was rather cramped. went with my new friend wanxin to the airport to fetch a japanese delegate. she came up with a nickname for me and henceforth i became "dash-dot-dash". oh and i lost track of time after 2.30am as i wished for was to crawl into bed and pull the covers over my head.

sat: first day. got up at 6.30am, walked to school at 7.30am, ate breakfast. delegates came in and i was ushering them into rooms to put down their belongings. the talk for them was rather long and boy, were there lots of laughs throughout the days. that fateful day, our dear friend siew yik changed his ringtone to doraemon and his phone rang in the conference hall. haha. mei-xi, wanxin and myself were tickled by the very thought of the doraemon song and the conference hall.

sun: ah~ nlds night. the day we slacked and felt terribly bored that we sneaked out for a break at raffles city (and most unfortunately, we were caught by doreen.. haha.. our excuse-"food recce for our nlds night programme", which of course, she didn't buy). renamed our OC to SKIII. and yeah the "OC... OC" phrase kept coming from the walkie-talkies one too many times.
mon: the balloon-blowing day. i blew and blew and blew. so did the others. until our mouths hurt. we had like over 50 balloons which i lost count since there were too many to keep track of. global village. set up the stalls, and starting OC filming. the room was filled with bursts of laughter with many lame jokes flying across the room.

tues: last day of nlds. it was amusing when mei-xi informed me that she had spent 20 minutes in the toilet trying to pull out rolls of toilet paper at the request of the facis. haha~ finally the time came for the closing session and once it ended the OC was screaming "IT'S OVER" and jumping for joy. felt rather guilty of being delighted at the end of the event when the others around us were upset at the thought of separation .. (the international delegates were flying back home). but.. no more sk to do. haha~ and wanxin stole a kiss from me. =X

wed: supposed to reach school at 2pm. woke up at 2.17pm when siew yik called and i hit upon the realization my alarm did not ring. yes, i had set an alarm, intending to wake up at 12.30. the only teeny weeny bit of difference? i put am instead of pm. in the end, i reached when the rest had moved the tables and chairs back to another level. haha~

all in all, it was an extremely tiring experience (a 4 hr sleep per day on average) and manual work but it was worth it because i found you guys, the OC! =D we kept one another going and it was a wonderful experience.

now, the next chapter for us: HONGKONG, here we come! jan 21-24!

it's 12:46 AM now on Thursday, December 14, 2006
