what am i planning to do next summer?
either one of the following (in order of preference):
1) camp counselor in USA
2) developmental work in india/turkey
3) community service in china/vietnam/cambodia
i'm in the midst of applying for option number (1), which requires a great deal of paperwork on my part. i've to find 3 people to write recommendation letters and they must have supervised me on my work with children. in addition i've to submit a photo collage and type a 2 page autobiographical essay. so far, i've managed to type 1 page. (probably you guys can give me feedback on my personality, work with children, etc?).
basically there are two kinds of camp counselors, those that have specialist skills and the general kind of camp counselor who is in charge of a group of children, accompanying them to different activities, their daily activities, etc.
sounds pretty cool.
really hope i can get through and go to the US!
