i am thankful for being given an opportunity to go on this overseas expedition. i've learnt lessons that i wouldn't have learnt in singapore.
i've learnt from this experience:
- to move out of my comfort zone
- to appreciate my mother more =)
- to appreciate family members
- to look at the positive side of things all the time
- that it reinforces the fact that material goods do not satisfy desires for happiness
- not to impose ideas on others, to listen to others' experiences and build on ideas from their opinions.
- appreciate that our teachers give us more freedom to express our creativity in our answers..
- appreciate the simple life.
- depending on oneself (handwashing our clothes, even when there's cow dung on it. there's no one to depend on but yourself.)
i've learnt more than what i've listed above.. it's a long list and.. i'm still wondering.. did we make a difference to their lives, or did they make a difference to ours?
when i left, i realized what i learnt was, we gain more intangible lessons from them than what they gain from us. and i am very grateful to them for that. =D
